We are continuing our series on symptoms of whiplash. As we have previously discussed, whiplash is severe neck strain caused by a rapid, sudden, forceful movement of the neck.  It is often a result of an injury caused by a car accident, slip and fall, roller coaster, sport accident, etc.  Since symptoms may not present themselves for a few days, it is important to seek a chiropractic evaluation from a qualified pain relief center soon after any accident or injury. Our previous article covered the common whiplash symptoms of neck pain, jaw pain and dizziness.  Today, we will look at three more indicators that whiplash may have occurred.

Headache

Neck injuries / whiplash can cause nerve damage, muscle tension and even brain injury, all of which can result in headaches.

Low Back Pain

The lumbar spine can be damaged by the same types of injuries that cause whiplash.  Low back pain after an injury or accident can be an indicator of whiplash.

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain can also be a result of injury to the neck, thus why we explore the possibility of whiplash when shoulder pain accompanies and accident or injury.
