Adam Roussel, D.C.

Dr. Adam Roussel is the founder and clinical director of Riverbend Family Chiropractic in Destrehan, Louisiana.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Kinesiology with a concentration in Human Movement Science and a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Life University.

Dr. Roussel also holds a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) degree from LSU Medical Center bringing a unique dual perspective to patient care — blending advanced rehabilitation strategies with corrective spinal treatment.

Dr. Roussel is currently completing a Diplomate program in Orthopedics and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (DIANM) from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, a rigorous postdoctoral program focusing on non-surgical spine care, orthopedics, and advanced clinical diagnostics.

With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Roussel has helped thousands of patients recover from chronic pain, disc injuries, and spinal degeneration through modern, evidence-based chiropractic and decompression therapies. His passion lies in helping people regain mobility, avoid unnecessary surgery, and restore their quality of life through safe, natural, and effective care. Dr. Roussel is trained and certified in all therapeutic modalities utilized at Riverbend Family Chiropractic.

Massage Therapist

Carolyn Matherne, L.M.T.

Carolyn has over 20 years of massage therapy experience. She joined Riverbend Family Chiropractic in June of 2014. Carolyn specializes in Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Neuromuscular, Trigger Point Therapy and Prenatal Massage. Carolyn prides herself on giving her patients what they need, all while providing the most calming and relaxing massages that ease pain and discomfort.

Christy Ybarra

Christy is a native of St. Charles Parish. Wife to Julian Ybarra Jr. and mother to three precious children— Jude, Carmen, and Jay. She spent eight years serving under the Parish Government and met many wonderful people through her service. In her off time, she enjoys the simpler things in life and spending time with her loved ones. Christy looks forward to continuing her service to the community alongside Dr. Roussel and Carolyn at Riverbend Family Chiropractic.
